Pine Ridge Man Sentenced to 175 Months for Drug Conspiracy

United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced today that on November 20, 2006, Justin Hawk Wing (27), of Pine Ridge, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier to 175 months imprisonment, five years supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 Victim Assessment fine. Hawk Wing was originally indicted by a federal grand jury in February 2006 for Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine following an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, SD UNET, the Rapid City Police Department, and the Oglala Sioux Tribal Police. The charges stem from an incident involving the illegal sale of drugs on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. On July 20, 2006, Hawk Wing pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mara M. Kohn.
