Rapid City Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of a Child

United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced today that on October 19, 2006, Steven Flood, age 21, of Rapid City was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Andrew W. Bogue to 46 months imprisonment, lifetime supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim's Assistance Fund. Flood was originally indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2005 for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and Abusive Sexual Contact following an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The charges stem from an incident wherein Flood engaged in sexual contact with an underaged person. On June 26, 2006, Flood pleaded guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mara M. Kohn.
