Erskine man indicted for robbing Moorhead credit union
MINNEAPOLIS– A 46-year-old Erskine man was indicted Oct. 16 by a federal grand jury with one count of armed bank robbery in connection with the holdup of a Moorhead credit union.
According to court documents, David Joseph Dornbach used a knife to take $7,689 from the Affinity Plus Credit Union on Aug. 20, 2007. He entered the bank and told a bank employee that he was interested in opening an account. During a conversation, Dornbach allegedly reached over the employee’s desk while holding a knife and demanded money.
The employee gave Dornbach the cash, and he fled. He was arrested later that day in a hotel room in Fargo, N.D.
If convicted, Dornbach faces a potential maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. All sentences are determined by a federal district court judge. This case is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Moorhead Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erika R. Mozangue.

An indictment is a determination by a grand jury that there is probable cause to believe that offenses have been committed by the defendant. The defendant, of course, is presumed innocent until he or she pleads guilty or is proven guilty at trial.
