United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced that Keith Wright, was convicted by a federal jury trial of seven counts of aggravated sexual abuse with three different children under the age of twelve years. Wright is a a 29-year-old member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. The defendant's mother's residence was a foster care home and all three victims were foster children that had been placed at various times in the foster home. Jackley said that, “after his conviction, the defendant wrote a letter to his mother in which he threatened to retaliate against the victims.” At Wright’s sentencing, the Court found that Wright was a repeat and dangerous sex offender and imposed a sentence of life imprisonment and a $25,000 fine.
