United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced
that a man charged with bank fraud and felon in possession of a
firearm was sentenced on March 3, 2008, by United States District
Court Judge Karen E. Schreier. Leo Dupree Ramsey, age 39, of Las
Vegas, Nevada, was sentenced to twenty-four months imprisonment,
five years supervised release, and ordered to pay $200 to the Victim's
Assistance Fund. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the
Black Hills Federal Credit Union in the amount of $17,500. Ramsey
was indicted for bank fraud and for being a person convicted of
a misdemeanor domestic violence crime in possession of a firearm
by a federal grand jury on April 19, 2007. Ramsey pled guilty to
the charges on December 10, 2007. This case was investigated by
the FBI and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney
Gregg S. Peterman. Ramsey was immediately turned over to the custody
of the US Marshal
