Oglala Man Sentenced 30 Months for Assault With Dangerous Weapon

United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced that a man charged with assault with a dangerous weapon was sentenced on January 29, 2008 , by United States District Court Judge Andrew W. Bogue. Martin Hart, age 47, of Oglala, was sentenced to thirty months imprisonment, three years supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the victim's assistance fund. Hart was indicted for assault with a dangerous weapon by a federal grand jury on July 25, 2007 , after he eluded police officers in a motor vehicle and ultimately crashed into a police car on June 15, 2007 . Hart pled guilty to the charge on October 31, 2007 . This case was investigated by the FBI and BIA. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Gregg S. Peterman. Hart was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
