United States Attorney Marty J. Jackley announced today that on January 7, 2008, Taurean Plume, age 21, of Rapid City, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier to eighteen months imprisonment, three years supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim's Assistance Fund. Plume was originally indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2007 for sexual abuse of a minor following an investigation conducted by the FBI. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 11, 2006, near Porcupine, wherein Plume engaged in sexual relations with a girl under the age of 16. On October 10, 2007, Plume pleaded guilty to the charge. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mara M. Kohn. # # #
