Ralph G. Diaz, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today announced the arrest of 8 individuals from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The arrests were made this morning by officers from the Sioux Falls Police Department and agents from the FBI. All the arrests were without incident. These individuals were wanted for Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud and Bank Fraud.

On October 18, 2006, the below named individuals were indicted by a federal grand jury in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and charged with the following counts:

Nathan Klutman, age 25 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and nine counts of Bank Fraud
James Klutman, age 20 – Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud
Joshua Kiecksee, age 19 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud
Amanda Woods, age 20 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and three counts of Bank Fraud
Jarod Barton, age 18 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud Bank, and Bank Fraud
Jessie Heater, age 19 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud
Brian Smook, age 19 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud
Robert Cross, age 24 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and two counts of Bank Fraud

In addition, two other Sioux Falls residents who were charged in the indictment were already in state custody on unrelated charges:

Matthew Sherron, age 21 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud
Brian Brave, age 18 - Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, and Bank Fraud

This case is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Sioux Falls Police Department and the FBI. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of South Dakota is prosecuting this case.

An indictment is a determination by a grand jury that there is probable cause to believe that offenses have been committed by the defendant. The defendant, of course, is presumed innocent until he or she pleads guilty or is proven guilty at trial.
