The Minneapolis FBI office today, announced the arrest of JACOB JOHN LUSSIER, A/K/A/ Jacob John Martin, age 24, of Red Lake, MN. Today, at approximately 1:30 pm, Jacob Lussier voluntarily surrendered to Beltrami County Sheriff’s Deputies at the Beltrami County Jail, Bemidji, Minnesota. A federal criminal complaint filed on October 1, 2006, in United States District Court, District of Minnesota, Bemidji, Minnesota, charges Lussier with the alleged September 30, 2006, murder of Harley James Sayers, age 23, of Red Lake, Minnesota.
A federal criminal complaint filed on October 1, 2006, in United States District Court, District of Minnesota, Bemidji, Minnesota, charges Jacob John Lussier with Murder in the First Degree. The complaint alleges that on September 30, 2006, within the exterior boundaries of the Red Lake Indian Reservation, Lussier ordered Harley James Sayers to get out of a vehicle and as Sayers was exiting the vehicle, Lussier allegedly shot and killed James with a shotgun.
The charges in a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
