Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today, announced the arrest of Samuel Patrick Sutton, age 35, of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Today, December 4, 2007, at approximately 7:30 am, officers from the Inver Grove Heights Police Department and the West St. Paul Police Department arrested Sutton after a felony car stop near the corner of 64 th Street East and Crosby Avenue, in Inver Grove Heights , Minnesota. The arrest was without incident.
On Monday, December 3, 2007, a federal criminal complaint was filed in United States District Court, District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, charging Samuel Patrick Sutton with bank robbery for the alleged November 13, 2007, robbery of the TCF Bank-Cub Foods Branch, located at 2021 South Robert Street, West St. Paul, Minnesota.
Sutton will make his Initial Appearance in a Minneapolis federal court later today.
This investigation was a joint effort by the West St. Paul Police Department, Inver Grove Heights Police Department, and the FBI. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota is prosecuting this case.
The charges in a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty .
