Ralph
S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today,
announced the arrest of DEJUAN HAYWOOD HAGGINS, age 25, of St. Paul,
Minnesota. Prior to federal charges being filed, officers from the St.
Paul Police Department arrested Haggins on May 3, 2007, on unrelated
charges for his alleged connection in a string of retail robberies in
St. Paul, Minnesota.
On June 25, 2007,
a federal criminal complaint was filed in United States District Court,
District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, charging Dejuan Haywood
Haggins with bank robbery for the alleged November 14, 2003, robbery
of the TCF Bank, located at 444 Cedar Street, St. Paul Minnesota; the
alleged March 21, 2007, robbery of the TCF Bank, located at 444 Cedar
Street; and the alleged April 20, 2007, robbery of the Unity One Federal
Credit Union, located at 380 Jackson Street, St. Paul, Minnesota. Haggins
made his Initial Appearance in federal court today and was ordered detained
pending further court proceedings.
This investigation
was a joint effort by the St. Paul Police Department, Bureau of Criminal
Apprehension (BCA) and the FBI. The United States Attorney's Office,
District of Minnesota is prosecuting this case.
