Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today, announced the arrest of DANIEL STEVEN ATCHISON, age 25, of rural Princeton, Minnesota. On Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at approximately 8:00 am, officers and agents from the Maple Grove Police Department, Edina Police Department, Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Fugitive Task Force and the FBI arrested Atchison at his residence located in the 16000 block of 321rst Avenue NE, Princeton, MN. The arrest was without incident.
On June 25, 2007, a federal criminal complaint was filed in United States District Court, District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, charging Daniel Steven Atchison with bank robbery for the alleged May 19, 2007, robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 13765 – 83rd Way North, Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Atchison made his Initial Appearance in federal court yesterday and was ordered detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for today.
This investigation was a joint effort by the Maple Grove Police Department, Edina Police Department and the FBI. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota is prosecuting this case.
The charges in a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
