On Friday, March 28, 2008, at approximately 6:45 a.m., the TCF Bank located at 3899 Silver Lake Road NE, St. Anthony , Minnesota, was a robbed by a lone masked gunman. The robber confronted three bank employees as they were entering the bank before opening hours. The robber pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the bank employees and ordered them to a back room of the bank. The robber orally threatened the employees and ordered them to open the vault. The robber ordered the employees to the floor and placed the stolen loot in a white cloth bag the robber was carrying. The robber then fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money. Local authorities eventually arrested the alleged bank robber after a high-speed chase.
The robber was described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, approximately 5’10" tall, approximately 180 pounds, wearing a black nylon stocking mask over his face, black jacket, gray sweat pants, tan gloves and brown shoes.
