Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today, announced the federal arrest of Dante Kenneth Benson-Henry, age 21, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Benson-Henry was taken into federal custody earlier this morning. Benson-Henry was previously arrested on April 23, 2008, by the Edina Police Department shortly after Benson-Henry allegedly robbed the TCF Bank, located at 6775 York Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota. Several law enforcement agencies assisted in the arrest.
On April 24, 2008, a federal criminal complaint was filed in United States District Court, District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, charging Dante Kenneth Benson-Henry with bank robbery for the alleged April 23, 2008, robbery of the TCF Bank, located at 6775 York Avenue South, Edina Minnesota.
This afternoon, Benson-Henry made his Initial Appearance in United States District Court and was ordered detained pending further court proceedings.
This investigation is a joint effort by the Edina Police Department, Richfield Police Department, Bloomington Police Department, Minneapolis Police Department, Eden Prairie Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. The United States Attorney’s Office, District of Minnesota is prosecuting this case.
The charges in a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty .
