Ralph
S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office, today,
announced the arrest of Jacob Edwin Edwards, age 26, of Hudson, Wisconsin.
On Thursday, January 24, 2008, at approximately 4:30 pm, FBI agents
arrested Edwards at a business located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The
arrest was without incident.
On January 18,
2008, a federal criminal complaint was filed in United States District
Court, District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, charging Jacob
Edwin Edwards with bank robbery for the alleged November 23, 2007, robbery
of the TCF Bank, located at 8432 Tamarack Village, Woodbury, Minnesota.
Edwards will make his Initial Appearance in a Minneapolis federal court
later today.
This investigation
was a joint effort by the Woodbury Police Department, Bloomington Police
Department and FBI offices in Minneapolis, Rochester and La Crosse,
Wisconsin. The United States Attorney's Office, District of Minnesota
is prosecuting this case.
The charges in
a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation and defendants
are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
