Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI office,
today, announced the federal arrest of John Russell Dyke, age 52, of Fridley,
Minnesota. Yesterday, March 12, 2008, at approximately 3:00 pm, Roseville
Police officers responded to a complaint call at the Motel 6 located at 2300
Cleveland Avenue, Roseville, Minnesota. The officers proceeded to interview
the suspect of the complaint call and conducted a criminal check on the suspect,
identified as John Russell Dyke. The officers discovered there was an outstanding
federal arrest warrant for bank robbery and then placed Dyke under arrest.
On March 11, 2008, a federal criminal complaint was filed in United
States District Court, District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota,
charging John Russell Dyke with bank robbery for the alleged February
11, 2008, robbery of the TCF National Bank located at 4205 Pheasant Ridge
Drive, Blaine, Minnesota.
Late this afternoon, John Russell Dyke made his Initial Appearance in
United States District Court and was ordered detained pending further
court proceedings.
This investigation was a joint effort
by the Blaine Police Department, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. The United States Attorney’s
Office, District of Minnesota is prosecuting this case.
The charges in a federal criminal complaint are merely an accusation
and defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty .
