Seeking Information on Burnsville Bank Robbery
On Thursday, August 20, 2009, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the US Bank located in Byerly’s Grocery store at 401 County Road 42 East, Burnsville, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone individual. After entering the store lobby and sitting on a bench for a short time, the robber entered the bank, approached the victim teller, and displayed a black handgun. He passed the teller a small green bag with white writing and a drawstring, verbally demanded all the teller’s $100 bills, and, using profanity, threatened to shoot him if he did not comply. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber turned to leave, looked in the bag, then turned back and demanded more money. After receiving more cash, the robber fled the bank on foot. He was last seen walking in a westerly direction on County Road 42.
The robber is described as a black male, approximately 6’0” to 6’5” tall, approximately 250 pounds. He was wearing a light hooded sweatshirt under an orange hooded rain parka and a yellow road construction vest, blue jeans, white sneakers, black gloves, and a black handkerchief with white print covering his face.
Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Burnsville Police Department, or Crime Stoppers.
