Seeking Information on Minneapolis Bank Robbery

On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the Wells Fargo Bank located at 3430 University Avenue SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone individual. After entering the bank, the robber approached the victim teller, displayed a weapon that appeared to be a handgun wrapped with duck tape, and made a verbal demand for cash. When the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the robber took the money, placed it into his sweatshirt pocket, and fled the bank on foot. He was last seen walking west on University Avenue SE.

The robber is described as a white male in his mid 30’s to early 40’s, approximately 5’10 – 5’11” tall and 175 pounds, with light colored hair with gray speckles. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored blue jeans, a dark knit cap, and a dark blue and white bandana covering his face.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Minneaplis Police Department, or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
