Seeking Information on Bank Robbery in Minneapolis

On Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the First National Bank of the Lakes at 706 2nd Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone individual. The robber entered the bank, approached the victim teller, and presented a note which demanded a specific amount of cash, and also threatened to shoot the teller if she did not comply. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the robber walked out of the bank and departed the area on foot. In an alley behind the bank, responding Minneapolis Police Officers discovered a location where red dye had apparently activated, as well as cash covered in red dye. 

The robber is described as a black male, in his mid 40’s, approximately 6’1” to 6’2” tall, approximately 300 pounds, with a shaven, bald head. He was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Minneapolis Police Department, or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
